Copper Bird Brooch - Step by Step 5

Time to wrap up the wings. I think I’ll hammer the wingtips just to give it a bit more reflective texture. An awful lot of hours in this little bird, I think it’s almost done. Just the wings to finish, the brooch catch, cut and file the pin, then harden the copper wire, then patina, then buff and polish, and then.. check it over and correct any odd wire....THEN .. it’s done! Then wear test it, make sure it survives being worn, and the final test.. a drive in the car.. nothing like seat belts to make a mess of delicate jewellery. Then it’s done!
